These airlines are conducting limited non-scheduled commercial flights, adhering to operational and safety protocols, the ministry indicated.
Flights are also functioning from various airports in Saudi Arabia and Oman, connecting to different destinations in India. With Qatar's airspace partially operational, Qatar Airways plans to conduct about 10 flights to India on Tuesday.
As for Kuwait, its airspace is currently closed. Nonetheless, Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways are offering non-scheduled commercial flights from Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia to India. The travel of Indian nationals from Kuwait continues to be coordinated via Saudi Arabia.
Bahrain's airspace is open, and Gulf Air is expected to commence limited flight operations from Bahrain to India soon, while also running non-scheduled flights from Dammam Airport to India. Indian nationals traveling from Bahrain are being assisted through Saudi Arabia.
In Tehran, the embassy has facilitated the movement of 2,313 Indian nationals from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan for onward travel to India, including 1,028 Indian students and 657 Indian fishermen.
Israeli airspace is partially accessible with restricted flight operations. Indian nationals are being assisted in traveling from Israel, via Jordan and Egypt to India.
According to the ministry, “Iraq's airspace is open, and Iraqi Airways has resumed flights to India. Indian nationals continue to be facilitated from Iraq through Jordan and Saudi Arabia to India.”
Since February 28, when the conflict in Iran began, around 955,000 passengers have traveled from the Gulf region to India.
The ministry maintains ongoing communication with State Governments and Union Territories to enhance information sharing and coordination. Their efforts remain focused on ensuring the safety, security, and welfare of the Indian community in these regions, as noted in the statement.
Indian Missions and Posts are operating 24/7 helplines and providing proactive assistance to Indian nationals, staying in close contact with local governments.
Regular updates are being issued, including details on local government guidelines, flight and travel updates, consular services, and various welfare initiatives to support the Indian community.
The missions are actively collaborating with Indian community organizations, professional groups, companies, and other stakeholders in the region, as mentioned in the statement.
