Meanwhile, the airspace in Kuwait remains closed. Both Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways are operating non-scheduled commercial flights from Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia to India. Consequently, Indian nationals traveling from Kuwait are routed through Saudi Arabia to reach India, as per the ministry's statement.
The Embassy of India in Tehran has already assisted 2,180 Indian nationals in reaching Armenia and Azerbaijan for further travel to India, including 981 students and 657 fishermen.
Israel's airspace is partially accessible but has restrictions on flight operations. Indian nationals are being assisted in traveling through Jordan and Egypt back to India.
The airspace in Iraq is also open, albeit with limited operations. Indian nationals can travel through Jordan and Saudi Arabia to return to India, the statement highlighted.
A dedicated special control room at the Ministry of External Affairs remains active and collaborates with Indian Missions, while keeping consistent communication with state governments and union territories. The focus continues to be on ensuring the safety, security, and welfare of the Indian community in the Gulf region.
