What Scared Aamir Dalvi About His Role in 'Kennedy'?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 16 (NationPress) Actor Aamir Dalvi has successfully expanded his artistic horizons in 'Kennedy', portraying the character of the primary antagonist, Salim Kattawala.
While Aamir has previously engaged with morally intricate roles, this project signifies his debut in Bollywood as an antagonist.
In contemplating the essence of Salim, Aamir disclosed that the character's silence was what truly frightened him.
He stated, “I’ve portrayed negative roles in the past, so the concept of darkness doesn’t intimidate me. What genuinely unsettled me here was the silence. Salim doesn’t feel the need to justify himself. He simply enters a room, and everything changes; the atmosphere shifts. That type of quiet strength lingers, and it’s profoundly disturbing.”
Aamir elaborated that the true challenge in playing this character was the restraint.
He remarked that he never regarded Salim as a villain but as someone who is utterly convinced that his actions are justified.
“I never looked at him as a villain. I viewed him as a person who sincerely believes he’s doing what’s necessary. That conviction is frightening because it stems from a deep-held belief. When someone doesn’t doubt their actions, they cease to question themselves, and that’s when they can do anything,” he added.
Featuring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in leading roles, 'Kennedy' is a dark noir film where morality is ambiguous and survival comes with a price.
The story follows Kennedy, an insomniac former police officer who clandestinely supports a corrupt system, lives in various conditions, and seeks redemption.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, 'Kennedy' is set to debut on ZEE5 on February 20.
Meanwhile, Aamir is recognized for his performances in television series such as 'Shapath Supercops vs Supervillains', 'Sanskaar Laxmi', 'Devanshi', 'Zindagi’s Bhaage Re Mann', and 'Aladdin'.
