Mumbai, Dec 1 (NationPress) Actor Adivi Sesh has shared insights into a significant artistic choice: his decision to refrain from dubbing his films in Hindi, opting instead to create them authentically in both languages.
In a conversation with IANS about this choice, Adivi stated: “The decision originated from my previous projects. As a writer, I grasp the emotion's essence on paper and how it translates on camera. There is a translation process involved.”
“Sometimes, when a word is simply translated from one language to another, its essence can be diminished.”
He acknowledges that “certain words and phrases hold a unique significance in their native language.”
“This is crucial when it comes to writing scripts and producing films. As an actor, when you genuinely convey the lines in that language, the audience connects on a deeper level. Therefore, we concluded that while it’s challenging, it’s always preferable to film and write the movie in both languages rather than merely relying on dubbing for a broader audience.”
Sesh further elaborated, “For Dacoit, we chose not to dub but instead to film it simultaneously in both languages.”
Joining Adivi Sesh in the film are Mrunal Thakur, director and actor Anurag Kashyap in a compelling role, along with Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla.
“Dacoit” narrates the story of an enraged convict seeking vengeance against his former girlfriend who betrayed him. As he devises a dangerous plan to ensnare her, the narrative unfolds into an emotionally charged saga of love, betrayal, and revenge.
Filmed simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the screenplay has been collaboratively crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Currently in post-production, Dacoit is poised for a grand pan-India release.
Adivi Sesh has previously solidified his position as a leading actor with commercially and critically acclaimed works such as Dongaata, Kshanam, Ami Thumi, Goodachari, Evaru, Major, and HIT: The Second Case.
