The individual in question was found to have concealed 38 kg of opium poppy within the hidden compartments of a vehicle, attempting to transport the illegal substance out of the province. Thanks to a routine check conducted by police on Tuesday, the illicit drugs were discovered, leading to the arrest of the car owner, according to a report by Xinhua news agency.
In a separate incident the day before, police reported the apprehension of two drug smugglers and the seizure of 61 kg of opium poppy in both Badakhshan and Logar provinces.
On Tuesday, Afghan counter-narcotics teams confiscated a total of 61 kg of illegal substances across the eastern Logar and northern Badakhshan provinces, resulting in the arrest of five alleged traffickers.
