New Delhi, April 3 (NationPress) Recently, the Western Sydney University launched the 'AgriMaitri' roundtable initiative aimed at co-creating solutions to enhance agribusiness relations between India and Australia. The inaugural session took place in the nation's capital, as reported.
The report from The Australia Today indicates that the first 'AgriMaitri India Roundtable' was hosted at the Australian High Commission, symbolizing a significant step towards boosting bilateral cooperation in the agribusiness domain. This initiative aims to unite stakeholders from both nations to collaboratively devise practical and scalable solutions.
Dr. Vanita Yadav, the project's lead, emphasized that this roundtable signifies a vital start in promoting collaboration across various sectors to tackle industry-specific challenges.
The event saw participation from 58 delegates, including representatives from government entities, industry stakeholders, AgTech companies, research institutions, academia, and trade organizations, thereby creating a robust platform for dialogue between Indian and Australian participants.
The 'AgriMaitri' initiative is led by a multidisciplinary team of experts from both countries, with support from partner institutions throughout India and Australia. It is funded by the Maitri Research Grants from the Centre for Australia-India Relations, which operates under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Emphasizing the essence of this initiative, Yadav mentioned that 'Maitri', meaning friendship in Sanskrit, embodies the collaborative spirit of the program.
