New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) Expressing its concern regarding the escalating tension along the India-Pakistan border, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) announced its support for all measures taken to safeguard the nation and its citizens.
It stressed that in these trying times, the public, political entities, military forces, and government must unite to tackle these threats.
In a special online meeting of its office bearers, the AIMPLB adopted a resolution.
The Board remarked that it is deeply worried about the rising tensions on the India-Pakistan border and reiterated its commitment to supporting all necessary actions for the protection of the nation and its populace. While denouncing terrorism, the Board clarified that war is not a viable solution to any problem.
“Terrorism and the loss of innocent lives are serious issues. There is no justification for terrorism within Islamic principles, universally accepted standards, and human values. Therefore, nations should settle their disputes via bilateral talks and discussions,” the resolution stated.
“Moreover, war is not a solution to any conflict, particularly in the context of nuclear capabilities. India and Pakistan cannot afford a war, as it could lead to unbearable hardships and suffering for people in both countries. Thus, all disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic channels,” it added.
The leading body of Indian Muslims also conveyed its intention to persist with the Save Waqf Campaign. However, considering the current situation, it has postponed public meetings and events for a week (until May 16).
“Indoor activities, including roundtable discussions with citizens, interfaith dialogues, sermons in mosques, submissions of memorandums via District Magistrates and Collectors, and press conferences, will continue as planned. The Board remains hopeful that the alarming situation will soon be resolved, restoring normalcy,” it concluded.
