Chennai, April 3 (NationPress) The renowned brand Amazon has released a public notice declaring that it is the exclusive owner of all digital rights associated with the highly anticipated film 'Drishyam 3', starring actor Mohanlal. Any party engaging with the film or its digital rights in violation of Amazon's exclusivity does so at their own peril.

In its declaration, Amazon Seller Services Private Limited stated, "This notice is to inform that Amazon Seller Services Private Limited (Amazon), exercising its rights under existing agreements with Aashirvad Cinemas, is the sole and exclusive holder of all digital rights (including SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, FVOD, and EST) for the film 'Drishyam 3' (Malayalam) (The Film)."

Amazon further cautioned, "This public notice serves to inform that Amazon retains these rights exclusively, and Aashirvad Cinemas (along with its assignees, licensees, or anyone else claiming authority from Aashirvad Cinemas) is not permitted to sell, license, or in any way assign third-party interests, liens, or encumbrances over the digital rights for the Film."

Additionally, it warned, "Any individual, organization, or digital platform that engages with the Film or its digital rights contrary to Amazon's exclusivity does so at their own risk, expense, and repercussions. Amazon reserves the right to initiate legal action, which may include seeking injunctive relief and damages, against any party infringing its exclusive rights or interfering with its contractual relations regarding the film."

For those unfamiliar, 'Drishyam 3' is the third chapter in the acclaimed franchise, which was officially initiated with a traditional puja ceremony at a law college near Kochi in September of last year.

Director Jeethu Joseph shared with the media prior to the launch that 'Drishyam 3' will delve into the next phase of Georgekutty's life, the iconic role played by Mohanlal.

“The narrative revolves around the developments in Georgekutty’s life after a span of four-and-a-half years. This is the essence of the story,” Joseph elaborated.

Producer Antony Perumbavoor, a long-time partner of Mohanlal and instrumental in the success of the Drishyam series, indicated that the decision to proceed with the third installment followed extensive deliberations.

“The overwhelming feedback from the first two films led us to believe that Georgekutty’s journey had further dimensions to explore. It was only after thorough discussions with Jeethu that we solidified this new installment,” Perumbavoor stated.

The filming took place at various locations including Thodupuzha and Vagamon, concluding with a final five-day schedule in Ernakulam.

The Drishyam series has attained cult recognition in Indian cinema for its compelling storytelling, intricate suspense, and Mohanlal’s celebrated performances.

Originally released in 2013, the first film set new standards in Malayalam cinema, while its sequel, which premiered in 2021, achieved record-breaking viewership both in theaters and on streaming platforms.
