The initiative has generated opportunities for numerous women associates and more than 2000 individuals with disabilities, with many having already joined the Amazon team, as stated in their release.
These seasonal roles are available in fulfilment centres, sortation centres, and last-mile delivery stations.
“Many of these new associates choose to continue their journey with Amazon even after the festive season, with a notable number returning year after year,” mentioned Abhinav Singh, VP - Operations, India & Australia, Amazon.
He added, “We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our associates, whether they are in our facilities or delivering packages.”
Amazon has also expanded the number of Ashray rest centres to 100 across India to enhance the well-being of its e-commerce workforce.
Moreover, the company provides complimentary health check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates in key cities, covering services like eye exams, dental care, BMI assessment, and physician consultations.
An on-site first aid facility, known as AMCARE, is also available at fulfilment centres for those needing immediate assistance or rest.
