He chaired the meeting to assess the security landscape after reviewing various developmental initiatives in the UT.

Present at the meeting were Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, GoC Northern Command Lt. General Suchindra Kumar, and several other high-ranking military and security officials.

Officials noted, “The Home Minister is evaluating the security situation, law enforcement conditions, and other related aspects in J&K during today’s unified headquarters meeting.”

As per sources, Amit Shah instructed the unified headquarters to operate in full coordination to guarantee zero infiltration from across the border and maintain a zero tolerance approach toward terrorists in the region.

Expressing satisfaction with the operational efficiency of the security forces, Amit Shah stressed the need for total eradication of terrorism in J&K, particularly in the Jammu division, as reported by sources.

The Home Minister also evaluated preparations for the approaching summer months, coinciding with the Amarnath Yatra and peak tourism season in the UT.

Amit Shah arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday for a three-day official visit.

Earlier that day, he reviewed the advancement of various developmental projects in the UT during a high-level meeting attended by L-G Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Chief Secretary Atul Dulloo, and other key officials.

Before the meeting, Amit Shah held a one-on-one discussion with the chief minister.

The Home Minister is also expected to meet with several delegations prior to his departure for Delhi later in the day.

He mentioned on X that three additional organizations have exited the separatist Hurriyat Conference and pledged their allegiance to the Constitution of India.

This reflects a growing acceptance of the Prime Minister’s vision for a Naya Kashmir, where violence and animosity would no longer exist.

Upon his arrival on Monday, Amit Shah visited the Humhama area near Srinagar International Airport to pay respects to the family of martyred J&K Police Dy SP, Humayun Bhat. The Home Minister offered his condolences, spending nearly 20 minutes with Ghulam Hassan Bhat, the retired IGP and father of Humayun, as well as offering condolences to Fatima, the officer’s wife, and blessing their 20-month-old child.

L-G Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah accompanied the Home Minister during his visit to the martyr's family. Humayun was killed on September 13, 2003, while confronting a group of terrorists in the forests of Kokernag Tehsil in the Anantnag district. He was known for his valor and was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra.

While in Jammu, Amit Shah met the families of four policemen who were martyred in the line of duty combating terrorism in the Kathua district. He provided compassionate appointment orders to the next of kin of the fallen officers.

During his interactions in Jammu, the Home Minister noted that while terrorism has decreased, it has not been fully eradicated, assuring that the situation would soon return to total normalcy.

He also held a closed-door meeting with members of the BJP and RSS at the home of Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly.

During his visit to the border outpost of the BSF in Kathua on Monday, the Home Minister commended the BSF for its role as an elite border defense force. He conveyed to the deployed BSF personnel that they are held in high regard by the nation due to their unwavering dedication and protection of the country’s borders. “You perform your duties year-round, 24/7, enduring torrential rains, extreme cold, or intense heat. The BSF boasts a proud history, and you rightfully deserve the respect your force has earned among the citizens of the country,” he stated to the BSF officers and soldiers.
