New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a fierce criticism of the Congress party on Friday as they opposed three controversial Bills in the Lok Sabha. He asserted that the Congress would have to “face the wrath of the women of this nation” for their refusal to support the Women's Reservation Bill.

In his remarks during the parliamentary debate, Shah stated, “I want to convey to the women of this country that in the absence of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, the Congress's proposal is a trap aimed at delaying women's reservation until after 2029.”

He described this as a conspiracy orchestrated by the Opposition.

“Their demand for equal representation among states is valid; however, women's reservation must be enacted before 2029. We shall not allow their conspiracy to postpone it beyond that date,” he emphasized.

Shah warned the Opposition members against opposing the Bill.

“I understand that their failure to vote will lead to the collapse of the Women's Reservation Bill, but the women of this nation are observing who is hindering their path to progress,” he remarked.

“When you step out into the public, you will feel the anger of the mothers and sisters of this country. You won't find a way to escape,” he insisted.

“Women will demand accountability during the elections,” he added.

Furthermore, the Home Minister contrasted the Congress's approach with that of the current government, stating, “For Congress, electoral success is paramount. Conversely, we prioritize the representation of our citizens and their meaningful involvement in governance.”

Shah accused the Congress party of consistently opposing a caste-based census and reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) throughout its long tenure in power.

He clarified that “the Constitution does not provide for reservations based on religion.”

Referring to Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav's comments, Shah said, “Some Members of Parliament have propagated falsehoods claiming that Muslim women should receive reservations.”

Moreover, he charged the leaders of the INDIA bloc with demanding “Muslim reservations in the nation” as part of their “appeasement politics.”
