Chennai, Feb 8 (NationPress) A significant security operation is being organized in Karaikal, Puducherry, in preparation for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s upcoming visit on February 14. Nearly 500 police officers will be deployed throughout the area to guarantee stringent safety and effective crowd management during his scheduled public address.

As per law enforcement officials, personnel from both the Puducherry Police and associated security teams will be stationed at vital intersections, event venues, and points of entry.

The security measures will be overseen by the Puducherry Deputy Inspector General of Police. Routine patrols are being enhanced, and thorough vehicle inspections will start along the Tamil Nadu-Karaikal border from Monday to avert any potential disturbances.

Amit Shah is anticipated to arrive via helicopter at Thirunallar before moving to the municipal ground in Karaikal, where a large-scale public gathering is planned.

Sources indicate he might also visit the renowned Thirunallar temple prior to his departure on the same day. The final schedule is expected to be confirmed shortly.

Meanwhile, the BJP has intensified its preparations for this high-profile visit, recognizing it as a crucial political moment ahead of the Puducherry Assembly elections.

The groundwork for the event commenced with a bhoomi puja ceremony held on Saturday for the setup of the stage and pandal at the municipal ground. The ceremony was attended by Puducherry Legislative Assembly Speaker R. Selvam, with Puducherry State BJP in-charge Nirmal Kumar Surana as a special guest.

In statements to the media, Surana mentioned that the party is ramping up its election strategies and mobilizing cadres throughout Karaikal to ensure a robust turnout. Local BJP officials remarked that this will mark HM Shah’s second visit to Karaikal, having campaigned there during the last Assembly elections.

Thousands of supporters are expected to participate in the rally.

Multiple organizational committees have been established to handle logistics, crowd management, and volunteer efforts.

Senior party officials emphasized the aim of achieving a decisive victory for the NR Congress-BJP alliance across all five Assembly constituencies in Karaikal, underscoring the close collaboration and renewed enthusiasm between the two parties.

With stringent security measures in place and political momentum building, Karaikal is preparing for one of the most significant campaign events of the season.
