The objective of this campaign was to diminish illegal activities that could potentially impact the election process.
As a result of these rigorous operations, the total value of seizures reached Rs 20.93 crore, marking a significant milestone in upholding the integrity and transparency of the elections.
To thwart the smuggling of illicit liquor and drugs, police undertook extensive actions.
A total of 65 cases were filed under the Excise Act, leading to the confiscation of 675 litres of illicit liquor valued at Rs 3,03,410, while six cases were recorded under the NDPS Act, resulting in the recovery of 121.765 kg of narcotic substances worth Rs 35,46,650.
During various enforcement operations, police seized Rs 17,64,250 in cash.
Furthermore, other seized items accounted for Rs 20,37,86,500, making this one of the most significant enforcement actions during the election period.
SP Andasu emphasized that police remained vigilant to ensure adherence to election security protocols, particularly during the 'silence period' that follows the end of campaigning.
As a preventive measure, 28 vehicles detected moving outside permissible zones within the Anta Assembly constituency were seized to block the entry of anti-social elements and violations of election guidelines.
This proactive strategy by the Baran Police showcases their unwavering commitment to facilitating free, fair, and peaceful elections.
