The program Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, broadcast on the Sun Neo channel, is set to showcase the formidable presence of seasoned actress Apara Mehta in the role of Rajeshree Bua, a character characterized by her old-fashioned and highly traditional views.
Although her character embodies a regressive mindset, Apara's actual beliefs are quite the opposite.
Expressing her views, Apara remarked, "In my personal view, I adopt a rather modern perspective. We are already well into the 21st century, and it is time we discard outdated paradigms. Women are entitled to freedom, education, skills, and independence; they must have every chance to thrive independently."
Commenting on her choice to join the show and her character, Apara Mehta stated, "Throughout my career, I have participated in nearly thirty-five daily dramas and have collaborated with nearly every television network, including some that have ceased to exist. However, Sun Neo was a channel I hadn’t previously worked with. While I was approached with numerous daily show proposals, the moment I learned about Beendani and grasped my character, it felt right. I thought, 'This is the project I wish to undertake.' Hence, after a six-month hiatus, I opted to return to a daily series, and the fact that I’m donning Rajasthani attire for the first time makes it even more special; I genuinely enjoyed every aspect of it."
Describing her role, she shared, "I portray Bua, the family’s eldest member and leader. She naturally commands respect and is deeply entrenched in traditions, holding strong beliefs in customs and rituals."
Further elaborating on her character, she mentioned, "Modernity does not resonate with Bua, as she believes that adherence to long-standing traditions is what unites a family. Her views are quite conservative; however, she is not portrayed as negative. She simply prefers to do things in the traditional manner. Embracing change is a challenge for her, and adapting to contemporary views is quite difficult."
Her character was recently introduced in a promotional clip through elegant imagery of rituals, a carefully arranged pallu, and a poignant moment where a book is quietly set aside, signaling her arrival with a clear message that traditions are once again in charge.
Apara has dedicated over three decades to the entertainment sector. Her portrayal of Savita Virani in the iconic series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2000 remains a memorable highlight of her career.
