Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Sooraj Barjatya's Rajshri Productions is gearing up for its initial venture into the OTT space with the upcoming series 'Bada Naam Karenge'. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Priyamvada Kant, one of the lead actors, was queried about the representation of women in the series.

In response, she remarked, 'The way the writers have crafted each character, every woman in this show is incredibly strong, akin to the female roles in previous Rajshri films. My character is a pregnant sister-in-law, yet she is not despondent or vulnerable. Even though her husband is unemployed, she manages the household, supports her family, and lends aid to Surbhi’s character. She possesses her own voice, something the male characters lack.'

She went on to express, 'The women’s voices are prominent in this series. There are numerous scenes where the female characters deliver lines that will astonish you. Each of us has a moment that will give you chills.'

Additionally, Sooraj Barjatya shared insights into his transition to OTT, stating, 'There are narratives that can be conveyed in a couple of hours. Since we also produce television shows, we understand the necessity of having a specific number of episodes to narrate a story. Thus, we require a platform to present our tales. At Rajshri, my elder son Devansh oversees TV and has been eager for us to make our OTT debut. We have been striving for a while now, and as luck would have it, we are launching our OTT initiative with 'Bada Naam Karenge'. I believe creators should not be concerned about the screen size; in today's world, they are all equivalent. Our focus should be on narrating our stories as effectively as possible. We are storytellers at heart.'

The core cast of the series includes Ritik Ghanshani, Ayesha Kaduskar, Kanwaljeet Singh, Alka Amin, Rajesh Jais, Chitrali Lokesh, Deepika Amin, Jameel Khan, Rajesh Tailang, Anjana Sukhani, Sadhika Sayal, Gyanendra Tripathi, Priyamvada Kant, Omm Dubey, and Bhavesh Babani.

'Bada Naam Karenge' is set to premiere on Sony LIV on February 7.
