Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Sooraj Barjatya's Rajshri Productions is gearing up for their debut on OTT platforms with the highly anticipated series 'Bada Naam Karenge'. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Priyamvada Kant, one of the lead actresses, was questioned about the portrayal of women in the show.
In response, she emphasized, “The writers have crafted each character with strength; every woman in this series is incredibly resilient, similar to the portrayals in other Rajshri films. My role is that of a pregnant sister-in-law, yet she is neither forlorn nor powerless. Despite her husband being unemployed, she manages the household, works, and supports Surbhi’s character. She possesses her own voice, a rarity in a male-dominated narrative.”
She continued, “The female characters are given a platform to express their views in this series. There are numerous moments that will astonish the audience, leaving them in awe. Each of us has a scene that is bound to send chills down your spine.”
Additionally, Sooraj Barjatya discussed the motivation behind their entry into OTT, stating, “Some stories require more than 2.5 hours to unfold. We understand the necessity for a specific number of episodes to convey our narrative. We believe in finding the right medium to share our stories. My son Devansh, who oversees TV at Rajshri, has been keen to venture into OTT, and it has come to fruition with 'Bada Naam Karenge’. In today’s landscape, the size of the screen doesn’t matter; storytelling remains our primary focus.”
The core cast of the show includes Ritik Ghanshani, Ayesha Kaduskar, Kanwaljeet Singh, Alka Amin, Rajesh Jais, Chitrali Lokesh, Deepika Amin, Jameel Khan, Rajesh Tailang, Anjana Sukhani, Sadhika Sayal, Gyanendra Tripathi, Priyamvada Kant, Omm Dubey, and Bhavesh Babani.
'Bada Naam Karenge' is set to premiere on Sony LIV on February 7.
