New Delhi, July 25 (NationPress) An impressive 99.8 percent of electors in Bihar have been included in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to an official from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday.
As noted, 7.23 crore elector forms have been collected and digitized, and the names of these electors will be featured in the Draft Electoral Roll. The digitization process for the remaining electors, along with the BLO reports, is set to conclude by August 1, stated the official.
The ECI also mentioned that on July 20, it shared lists of electors who have either not filled out enumeration forms, are deceased, or have permanently migrated with all 12 political parties—which collectively appointed 1,60,813 booth-level agents (BLAs)—to allow for corrections in the Draft Electoral Roll prior to its publication on August 1.
Among the parties receiving these lists are the Congress, which has designated 17,549 BLAs, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal, with 47,506 BLAs.
Other parties included in this list are the Bahujan Samaj Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Lok Samta Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) (Liberation), Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), National People’s Party, and Aam Aadmi Party.
The ECI shared specifics about BLAs, indicating that the BJP has nominated 53,338, Janata Dal (United) 36,550, Rashtriya Lok Samta Party 270, Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party 1,913, and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 1,210.
Since June 24, local BLOs/BLAs reported the following: approximately 22 lakh deceased electors; around 7 lakh electors registered in multiple locations; roughly 35 lakh electors have either permanently migrated or are untraceable; and enumeration forms for about 1.2 lakh electors are still pending, as per the ECI.
According to the SIR order, from August 1 to September 1, any elector or political party may complete the required forms and submit claims to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for any eligible elector who has been overlooked or file objections for the removal of any ineligible elector.
