Patna, June 20 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Friday that the double-engine government in Bihar is dedicated to the comprehensive development of the state. During his visit to Siwan, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development initiatives valued at over Rs 5,700 crore.
He also launched the Vande Bharat Express train, which will provide a direct connection from Pataliputra in Bihar to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, passing through Muzaffarpur and Bettiah.
To further enhance the railway infrastructure in the area, PM Modi inaugurated the new Vaishali-Deoria railway line project, which is estimated to cost over Rs 400 crore, and flagged off a new train service on this route.
Reiterating the Centre’s commitment to Bihar's overall development, PM Modi shared his sentiments on his personal social media account on X, stating, “The double-engine government is dedicated to the all-around development of Bihar. I am delighted to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth thousands of crores from Siwan.”
One of the significant moments of the event was the distribution of house keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) by the Prime Minister.
During a public gathering in Siwan, PM Modi released the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U) and handed over keys to several beneficiaries, marking the Grih Pravesh Ceremony for over 6,600 completed PMAY-U houses.
Moreover, he flagged off a state-of-the-art locomotive manufactured at the Marhowra Plant, set for export to the Republic of Guinea, under the 'Make in India' initiative. This is the first export locomotive produced at this facility.
PM Modi engaged the audience with a heartfelt greeting in the local dialect, saying, “Raua.. Sab logon ke pranam karta hi” (You people.... I greet you all present here).
He was joined on stage by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Deputy CMs, NDA alliance leaders, and veteran BJP party members.
