New Delhi/Patna, Oct 14 (NationPress) The BJP on Tuesday claimed there is a rift between Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav regarding the distribution of Assembly tickets, alleging that Tejashwi is “humiliating” his father.
Amit Malviya, who oversees the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, stated that a family unable to manage its own issues cannot be expected to lead the grand alliance, remarking, “Forget the grand alliance, here even the family itself isn't being managed.”
Malviya drew comparisons between Tejashwi Yadav and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, asserting that Tejashwi is emulating the latter's strategy of “humiliating” his father.
He expressed, “Just as Akhilesh Yadav humiliated his father in Uttar Pradesh, Tejashwi Yadav is also keeping his father away from the party's affairs,” while tagging a post on X with the title “Bihar polls: Lalu distributes tickets to RJD loyalists; Tejashwi steps in late night to reverse move.”
Malviya further accused Tejashwi Yadav of excluding his elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav.
He questioned, “The elder brother has been expelled from the party; there's discord with the sisters. After all, who is the mastermind behind this family feud?”
On Monday, Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced the first list of 21 candidates for his party, the Jantantrik Janata Dal (JJD), in Patna.
This announcement was made just a day after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) shared its seat-sharing arrangement for the elections scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results on November 14.
Tej Pratap Yadav’s JJD moved forward, unveiling its candidate list ahead of the grand alliance.
Tej Pratap Yadav will contest from the Mahua Assembly constituency in Vaishali district, a seat he previously won in 2015.
On social media platform X, Tej Pratap asserted, “I am fully dedicated and ready to work for the overall development of Bihar.”
He added, “We aim to bring a complete transformation in Bihar and create a new system. We are prepared to fight a long battle for the state’s development.”
He shared a photo featuring his party’s election symbol, a blackboard, along with the slogan: “Power of the people, rule of the people… Tej Pratap will develop Bihar.”
The poster also emphasized the party’s core values: “Social Justice,” “Social Rights,” and “Complete Change.”
