Gadag, April 22 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP president and MLA B. Y. Vijayendra lambasted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, stating that it is regrettable that he lacks the fundamental respect to maintain the dignity of India while abroad.

During a media briefing in Gadag, Vijayendra remarked that Rahul Gandhi made derogatory comments about India during his recent speech in the United States.

He mocked, "That noble soul, Rahul Gandhi, appears to have no comprehension of how to discuss his own nation when outside its borders."

Furthermore, he expressed his disapproval of Rahul Gandhi's criticisms towards a constitutional authority like the Election Commission of India.

Challenging the Congress leader's "double standards," Vijayendra questioned, "If Rahul Gandhi faced a loss in Maharashtra, he could have addressed it in Parliament. If the Election Commission had favored the BJP and let down Congress in Maharashtra, why didn’t he bring up the same concern when Congress triumphed in Telangana?"

He pointed out, "In Himachal Pradesh, Congress holds power. The BJP could have also taken charge there. When they win in Telangana, they react one way. But following a defeat in Maharashtra, doubts arise, and he chooses to speak about it in America. This displays a remarkable level of foolishness," he criticized.

Vijayendra termed Rahul Gandhi's actions as "an irresponsible act by a Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha."

Discussing the BJP's Janakrosh Yatra, which has finished two phases, he stated, "It is garnering fantastic support across various districts. Many individuals are participating as the public protests against the anti-people Congress government."

He accused the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, of persistently raising prices, rendering Karnataka one of the costliest states to live in.

"Corruption has reached unprecedented levels. Due to the BJP's protests regarding the scam in the Valmiki Corporation, a minister was compelled to resign," he reminded.

Addressing the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, he highlighted that while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has claimed innocence and accused others of defamation, his family has returned 14 properties valued at approximately Rs 62 crore unconditionally.

"This indicates that Siddaramaiah is not a transparent politician, but rather a corrupt one," Vijayendra asserted, adding that under the Congress government, development is virtually absent.
