Shivamogga, April 14 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra fiercely criticized the Congress-led government on Tuesday, accusing it of a total failure in governance and a lack of administrative accountability in the state.

While speaking to the media in Shivamogga, Vijayendra stated that the Congress administration exhibits “no sense of dignity or decorum” and has been neglecting its responsibilities due to ongoing internal conflicts. He asserted that the administrative structure has “entirely collapsed” as leaders focus solely on political maneuvering in Delhi.

Highlighting recent political tensions, he claimed that the struggle for the Chief Minister’s position has hampered governance, asserting that the state's citizens are suffering as a result of this infighting. “Bengaluru is currently facing challenges without effective leadership from both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister,” he remarked.

In response to JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy’s prediction of a coalition government in 2028, Vijayendra stated that the future will determine the outcome. He emphasized that the BJP, as a national party, would adhere to the guidance of its central leadership and prioritize the interests of both the state and the party.

Regarding women’s reservation, Vijayendra expressed support for the Centre’s decision to hold a special Parliament session. He noted that the Prime Minister’s initiative demonstrates a strong dedication to promoting both social justice and political empowerment for women.

In response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s characterization of the women’s reservation amendment bill as a “political gimmick,” Vijayendra argued that such comments trivialize the cause of women’s empowerment. He called for Kharge to apologize to women nationwide.

He further questioned the Congress party’s commitment to women's issues, accusing it of seeking to undermine even progressive initiatives. “This approach will not serve the Congress party well,” he added.

It is noteworthy that, in a significant political event, approximately 25 Congress legislators convened for a breakfast meeting at the Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi on Monday, where they discussed the Cabinet reshuffle and demonstrated their support via a signature campaign.

Several MLAs contributed to this informal gathering, emphasizing the necessity for a reshuffle. They indicated that the government has been in power for three years and that fresh opportunities should be provided to new individuals.

During this meeting, the legislators signed a memorandum advocating for ministerial positions and broader representation. This signature campaign is viewed as a collective effort to communicate their aspirations to the party's leadership.

The legislators had previously presented their demands to Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar noted that there was nothing inappropriate about party MLAs visiting Delhi to meet with the Congress High Command, while cautioning that unnecessary public statements could lead to disciplinary measures from the party.

While addressing reporters at Mallikarjun Kharge's residence in Bengaluru, Shivakumar stated, "All MLAs must uphold party discipline. They should respect the party and avoid damaging its reputation in front of the media. The Chief Minister has already addressed this issue. Everyone's future is tied to the party, not the media."
