Bengaluru, Sep 7 (NationPress) In the midst of tensions with the Congress-led administration in Karnataka, a BJP delegation, headed by State party President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra, convened with former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda at his Bengaluru residence to seek his insights on the ongoing situation in the state.
Following the meeting, BJP leader Vijayendra informed the press on Saturday that he visited Deve Gowda to request his blessings and express his regards.
“To gain his wisdom, I, accompanied by senior party leaders, called on him (former PM H.D. Deve Gowda),” he mentioned.
Vijayendra emphasized that despite his advanced years, Deve Gowda's dedication to the nation and confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership serve as a model for younger politicians.
He also revealed that they engaged in extensive discussions regarding various current political issues affecting both the state and the nation.
“He (H.D. Deve Gowda) reflected on his tenure as Prime Minister of the country,” noted BJP leader Vijayendra.
According to Vijayendra, Deve Gowda asserted that only PM Narendra Modi has the capability to effectively steer the country forward, stating that it would be unfeasible under any other leader. “PM Modi Ji has taken on this challenge and is propelling the nation forward. Only he can lead such a formidable India,” the BJP leader quoted Deve Gowda as saying.
Additionally, he noted that Deve Gowda spoke of a profound, lifelong connection with PM Modi.
Recalling a past incident involving former US President Donald Trump, Vijayendra mentioned Deve Gowda's commendation of PM Modi's prompt and effective response within 48 hours, labeling him a “model leader.”
“I visited former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, a respected and seasoned statesman, to check on his health,” he added.
He also pointed out a letter recently penned by Deve Gowda to PM Modi, congratulating him on his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit.
This letter reportedly applauded PM Modi's bold and successful diplomatic initiatives in Japan and China, particularly in response to challenges posed by Trump.
Vijayendra refuted claims of discord between the BJP and JD-S, asserting, “There is no lack of coordination between us; the disconnect exists in media interpretations.”
Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA C.N. Ashwath Narayan stated that the JD-S remains a constituent of the NDA alliance.
He remarked: “Each political party strives to bolster its own organization. However, there exists a robust alliance between us. The BJP and JD-S collaborate with mutual trust, belief, and respect, united in their people-centric objectives. Our relationship in Karnataka is strong and beneficial.”
BJP MLAs B. Suresh Gowda and C.K. Ramamurthy, Karnataka BJP General Secretary Nandeesh Reddy, along with JD-S leaders T.N. Javarayi Gowda and H.K. Ramesh were also present.
