Karnataka BJP's Internal Disputes Exposed, Core Committee to Resolve Conflict

Bengaluru, Nov 28 (NationPress) The internal conflict within the Karnataka BJP has become apparent, as tensions between the camp of State President B.Y. Vijayendra and senior BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal escalate.

MLA Yatnal has called for accountability from Vijayendra and his father, former CM B.S. Yediyurappa, for the party's poor performance in the bypolls. In response, Vijayendra has asserted that he will no longer remain silent.

According to party insiders, the leadership has acknowledged the situation and plans to address it during a core committee meeting set for December 2 and 3 at the BJP headquarters in Bengaluru.

A senior leader from New Delhi is being dispatched to the meeting to discuss the matter and provide a report, sources have indicated.

In response to the turmoil, former CM D.V. Sadananda Gowda expressed on Thursday that there’s a growing sentiment that the BJP is entangled in internal conflicts, which undermines the state government’s stability.

“This ego clash is harming the party significantly. We cannot allow such dramatic occurrences to persist. I have decided to return to New Delhi. The core committee meeting is on December 3, where I will raise these issues and appeal to the high command to address the situation,” Gowda commented.

“I have sent two letters to the party leadership regarding the unfolding events in the state. During my tenure as the state party president, there were two major factions led by late former union minister Ananthkumar and former CM B.S. Yediyurappa, yet they never resorted to public confrontations,” he recounted.

Gowda advised the state leaders: “Instead of engaging in public disputes, it’s better to approach New Delhi, where senior leaders are available to mediate. If not, you do not deserve the title of loyal party workers.”

“I contemplated organizing a meeting to counsel the two factions, but given their public altercations, I felt unable to manage the situation. It has spiraled out of control in the state,” Gowda remarked.

In response to Gowda’s statements, MLA Yatnal remarked on Thursday in Vijayapura that senior leader Sadananda Gowda “should remain silent.” “If not, I will expose him. I have raised issues regarding the Waqf, so why is Gowda troubled?”

“Gowda has made much more severe remarks against former CM Yediyurappa than I have. I prefer not to discuss those who are irrelevant. I have no alliances with any politicians,” MLA Yatnal charged.

MLA Yatnal, along with senior legislator Ramesh Jarkiholi, has openly rebelled against State President Vijayendra, challenging his leadership. They have initiated parallel meetings and events statewide to address the Waqf issue.

Supporters of Vijayendra have called on the high command to take action and prevent party leaders from openly defying his authority.
