Bengaluru, Oct 30 (NationPress) The BJP on Thursday accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of acting like the District Collector of Wayanad in Kerala. Notably, the Wayanad Parliamentary Constituency is currently represented by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, expressed his concerns, stating, "Karnataka does not require a CM who submits to the fabricated Gandhi family, utilizes our treasury as if it were the High Command's ATM, and neglects the farmers of his own state who sustain him. We chose a Chief Minister for Karnataka, not a puppet for Delhi, nor a brand ambassador for Wayanad."
He criticized, "Mr. CM Siddaramaiah, how long will Karnataka endure a Chief Minister who mimics Wayanad’s District Collector and fundraiser? You hastily approved Rs 10 crore of Karnataka taxpayers’ money to Wayanad and allocated Rs 15 lakh to the family of a man killed by an elephant," Ashoka remarked.
Accusing CM Siddaramaiah of favoritism, Ashoka added, "You pledged to construct 100 homes in Wayanad following a landslide. You utilized the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) to bolster tourism in Wayanad - Priyanka Gandhi's constituency."
He pointed out the lack of attention towards the people of Karnataka, stating, "North Karnataka is inundated. Farmers are suffering, homes are destroyed, and 12.5 lakh hectares of crops have been damaged. Compensation remains trapped in bureaucratic delays, surveys, excuses, speeches, and photo opportunities," Ashoka criticized.
"Where is the compensation and flood relief for Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadgir, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, and Belagavi districts in Karnataka?" Ashoka inquired.
He demanded urgency, asking, "What are your priorities? You transferred funds to another state faster than you did for our disaster-stricken farmers. This is not charity; it is High Command appeasement to maintain your position," he criticized.
Ashoka urged for the immediate release of full compensation to the affected regions and farmers, emphasizing, "Stop exploiting Karnataka’s finances to appease the fictitious Gandhi family. Karnataka first. Not Wayanad first."
