New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) Voters are poised to support the BJP, aiming to establish a ‘conflict-free’ and double-engine government dedicated to the city's development by granting us over 51 per cent of the votes, stated Baijayant Jay Panda, the party's leader for the Delhi unit, on Friday.
“Under ‘AAP-da' governance, development in Delhi has stagnated over the past decade. Roads remain in disrepair, and the promises to clean the Yamuna have turned out to be empty. The pollution control board is not receiving the funds offered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to political pride,” Panda informed IANS.
He further criticized the AAP-da leaders for spreading falsehoods regarding the cancellation of free welfare services, emphasizing that PM Modi has personally refuted these claims.
“The distinction between BJP and AAP lies in our ability to fulfill promises. In contrast, AAP has failed to provide financial aid to women in both Delhi and Punjab,” he asserted, noting the BJP's commitment to maintaining fiscal health wherever it governs.
Panda emphasized the BJP's pledge for corruption-free governance, alleging that the AAP-da's free schemes are merely a cover for corrupt practices, citing examples of scandals tied to liquor policies and classroom construction.
He pointed out the significant corruption within the Delhi Jal Board, which is supplying tainted water, yet its finances have gone unchecked for eight years. Additionally, the DTC is facing challenges due to a dwindling number of buses.
Panda described the rival parties' focus on the Purvanchalis as opportunistic, recalling how, during the pandemic five years ago, individuals from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar had to flee due to a lack of oxygen cylinders, vaccinations, or medical care.
“Meanwhile, an AAP-da leader constructed a lavish Sheesh Mahal for himself. They are solely invested in vote bank politics,” he commented.
The Chhath festival holds immense importance for the Purvanchalis, yet the AAP-da government has failed to clean the Yamuna, disrupting their rituals in the sacred river.
“They have deceived the populace three times,” he remarked, adding that AAP-da's leader will be unable to assume the role of Chief Minister due to court-imposed restrictions.
“In our party, any member can rise to the position of Chief Minister, but the AAP-da should clarify which of their leaders is poised to become the CM, as the current CM has been labeled as ‘temporary’ by their own ranks,” he stated.
Regarding Congress's chances in this three-way contest, Panda remarked that the February 5 election is crucial for the party's existence. “The announcements being made by Congress are irrelevant,” he noted.
Similar declarations were made in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, yet they remained unfulfilled.
