BJP chief Nitin Nabin begins two-day Uttarakhand visit ahead of 2026 polls
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin arrived in Uttarakhand on Friday, 2 May 2025, for a two-day visit aimed at reviewing party organisation and sharpening electoral strategy ahead of the state Assembly elections scheduled for February 2026. The visit signals the BJP's early mobilisation effort in a state it currently governs and is keen to retain.
Key Meetings on the Agenda
During his stay, Nabin is scheduled to hold discussions with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, senior party office bearers, and state-level leaders. According to a party source, the meetings are also expected to include detailed interactions with district-level leaders and key functionaries to assess ground-level performance and coordination across the state.
The discussions are set to focus on strengthening the party organisation, reviewing ongoing political activities, and strategising for upcoming electoral and governance-related challenges, a party leader said.
Organisational Priorities
Party sources indicate that Nabin's visit will place emphasis on improving outreach, consolidating voter support, and ensuring better implementation of party programmes across Uttarakhand. The visit is seen as part of the BJP's broader effort to maintain organisational cohesion and cadre readiness, with central leadership engaging directly with ground-level workers to boost morale ahead of the election cycle.
This is consistent with the BJP's pattern of deploying national office bearers to poll-bound states well in advance — a strategy the party has used effectively in past assembly election cycles.
