Chennai, Dec 1 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu has urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to take action on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national initiative aimed at promoting Tamil learning and to ensure the state's enthusiastic involvement in the forthcoming Kashi Tamil Sangamam.
In a statement released on Monday, BJP State Spokesperson A.N.S. Prasad emphasized that the Prime Minister’s vision of encouraging every citizen of Bharat to embrace Tamil should be fully supported in Tamil Nadu.
While referencing the latest installment of PM Modi’s monthly radio segment 'Mann Ki Baat', Prasad highlighted that the Prime Minister had extended a heartfelt invitation to people across India to participate in the fourth Kashi Tamil Sangamam, commencing December 2 in Varanasi.
During this broadcast, PM Modi characterized the festival as a “beautiful confluence” of one of the world's oldest languages, Tamil, and the ancient city of Kashi.
He encouraged citizens from all regions to “join the Kashi Tamil Sangamam and learn Tamil,” reinforcing the event's central theme: 'Tamil Karkkalam (Let us learn Tamil)'.
Prasad urged the Tamil Nadu Government to capitalize on this opportunity to highlight the ancient heritage, cultural richness, and linguistic pride of Tamil to visitors from all over the nation.
He called for the Chief Minister to assemble a team of Tamil scholars and experts for the event and to develop systems within the state that facilitate Tamil learning for all non-Tamil speakers residing in Tamil Nadu.
The BJP spokesperson acknowledged other significant topics discussed in 'Mann Ki Baat', including the vital role of youth in nation-building, advancements in India’s space sector, and the successes of Gen-Z innovators who created drones for a Mars-like environment in an ISRO-led competition.
PM Modi praised these accomplishments as symbols of a confident and emerging Bharat. Building on this, Prasad requested that the Tamil Nadu Government work with the Union Government to establish a modern Drone Technology Park in the state.
Such a facility, he argued, would nurture the talents of Tamil Nadu's youth and enhance the state's contributions to India's drone innovation ecosystem.
“The BJP is ready to collaborate with the Tamil Nadu Government to drive the state’s growth and technological progress,” he concluded.
