New Delhi, Feb 7 (NationPress) Once again, schools in Delhi and Noida have encountered bomb threats, leading to prompt security responses and emergency protocols being enacted.
In light of this, school authorities and law enforcement have implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee the safety of both students and faculty.
Investigations into the origins of these threats are ongoing, while security measures are being heightened across educational institutions in Delhi-NCR. The situation is under vigilant observation as officials strive to assess the legitimacy of the threats and uphold public safety.
Earlier on Wednesday, four private schools in Noida, Uttar Pradesh received bomb threats, resulting in alarm among parents, educators, and pupils.
The schools affected include Step by Step School, The Heritage School, Gyanshree School, and Mayur School, which were notified of the threats via email, prompting school administrations to inform the district authorities and police.
Upon receiving the alerts, a team from UP Police, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), fire brigade, and dog squad, were dispatched to conduct a comprehensive investigation at the schools.
The police later assured that there was no cause for concern, as investigations revealed normalcy in all affected schools, with many resuming classes after a few hours.
The police urged the public to dismiss rumors and exercise patience.
Later in the day, a 14-year-old boy was arrested for reportedly sending the bomb threat, as he wished to avoid attending school.
He disclosed to the police that he conceived the idea after reading about similar threats at various schools nationwide.
According to law enforcement, the boy conducted extensive research online prior to composing the email.
The Class 9 student has been charged under the provisions of the IT Act at the Sector 126 police station in Noida.
In a related incident, on January 10, a Class 12 student who had sent bomb threat emails to 23 schools was detained in Delhi. This detention followed a police investigation linking him to the bomb threats.
Initial inquiries indicated that he sought to avoid examinations. He sent threats to multiple schools, excluding his own institution.
The spate of bomb threats in recent weeks, which later proved to be hoaxes, has placed the police on high alert.
