Jaipur, March 10 (NationPress) A wave of alarm swept through over 10 cities in Rajasthan on Tuesday as multiple government offices were hit by bomb threats. The passport and post offices were the main targets, raising immediate alarm for local police and security agencies.

Upon receiving the alerts, authorities promptly deployed personnel to the locations, evacuating the buildings and initiating comprehensive search operations.

Reports indicate that bomb threats were directed at passport offices in districts such as Banswara, Sikar, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer on that day.

Additionally, head post offices in Ajmer and Bikaner, along with a post office in Dausa, also received similar threats.

Officials disclosed that the threats were communicated via email. Government offices in the state capital, Jaipur, as well as in Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, and Hanumangarh, were reportedly targeted with similar emails.

Following the threats, senior officials were alerted, and local police stations heightened their vigilance. Security teams quickly arrived, evacuating premises as a precaution and conducting thorough checks. To date, no suspicious items have been discovered at any of the locations.

In Jaisalmer, the passport office situated in the city’s post office complex received an email threat, prompting police to clear the entire area and relocate employees to safety.

Security measures were ramped up around the office and its vicinity, with police and other security agencies launching a search. Due to the seriousness of the threat, all operations at the office have been temporarily halted, and the premises are sealed until further updates.

A concerning email received by the Bikaner passport office on Tuesday sent shockwaves through security circles. The email alleged that certain dubious individuals were plotting to target VVIP documents tied to the passport office. It also hinted that the message was a precursor to assess agency responses and evaluate the current security measures.

The email further cautioned against potential incidents, including an IED explosion, advising the evacuation of staff and the public from the passport and post office locations.

On the same day, the passport office at the new bus stand in Banswara also received a bomb threat via email, resulting in the evacuation of the nearby post office. This led to panic among employees and the public visiting for official matters.

Similarly, the passport office in Sikar was also threatened, with the message directed to the official email of the Jaipur passport office.

In response to the alert, the entire premises were evacuated. District Special Branch officials, along with City Circle Officer Sandeep Chaudhary, Kotwali police station SHO Sunil Jangid, and Udyog Nagar SHO Rajesh Kumar Budania arrived at the scene with their teams.

A bomb disposal unit was summoned from Jaipur after the threatening email was reported, leading to the deployment of a significant police presence at the site.

In Alwar, the head post office at Moti Doongri also received a bomb threat via email, allegedly originating from Pakistan. The entire area was cleared, and a bomb disposal team commenced a detailed examination. The main entrance was closed, allowing entry only after the search concluded.

The passport office in Jaipur, along with the General Post Office, faced bomb threats as well. The Regional Passport Office at Hanumangarh Junction was also threatened and subsequently evacuated. A bomb threat sent to the main post office in Sawai Madhopur further escalated panic on Tuesday.
