Brighton, Feb 3 (NationPress) Brighton & Hove Albion has officially announced the acquisition of Stefanos Tzimas from the Bundesliga 2 club FC Nuremburg. The Greek under-21 international has committed to a contract that extends until June 2030, although he will continue on loan at FC Nuremburg for the remainder of the season.

Stefanos made his way to Nuremburg from PAOK Salonika last summer on a temporary basis, which included an option for a permanent transfer. Nuremburg exercised that option in the current transfer window, paving the way for his future move to Albion.

“Stefanos is a remarkable young talent, a true centre-forward with an innate scoring ability, and we are thrilled to have secured his signing. He will join us in the summer in preparation for the next season, and we eagerly anticipate collaborating with him, as we believe he has a very promising future ahead,” stated head coach Fabian Hurzeler.

The 19-year-old advanced through the ranks at PAOK, making his first-team debut as a late substitute against PAS Giannini in February 2023. He netted his first league goal for the club in the subsequent match – a 6-0 triumph over Ionikos – at the tender age of 17.

In total, he made 30 appearances in all competitions for PAOK, scoring five goals before his summer transfer to Nuremburg. Since arriving in Germany, he has been in excellent form, tallying ten goals in seventeen league matches thus far. He has also represented Greece at various youth levels, making his under-21 debut in March 2024.

“He will continue to play for Nuremburg in the second half of the season, where he has been given a fantastic opportunity to further his development in the Bundesliga 2. We will monitor his progress closely and wish him the best for the remaining part of the season with Nuremburg,” added technical director David Weir.
