Etawah, Jan 31 (NationPress) A significant road incident transpired on the Agra Highway in the Jaswantnagar region of Etawah district when a double-decker bus carrying pilgrims flipped over after the driver lost command of the vehicle. At the time of the mishap, around 45 pilgrims were aboard the bus. Approximately ten pilgrims suffered injuries and were promptly taken to a hospital for care.

Reports indicate that the double-decker bus was making its way late Thursday night from Barsana in Mathura district to Orai in Jalaun district after the pilgrims completed their religious journey.

As the bus approached Malajani village on the Agra Highway, the driver supposedly lost control due to heavy fog, resulting in the bus overturning. This sudden accident caused panic among the passengers.

Immediately after the incident, local villagers rushed to assist with rescue efforts. Some locals notified the police, while others summoned ambulances for the injured. Several pilgrims incurred minor injuries, whereas a few were more seriously wounded. The overturned bus and ensuing rescue operations temporarily halted traffic on the highway.

Upon receiving the report, police and administrative personnel arrived swiftly at the accident scene. The injured passengers were transported to the Community Health Centre in Jaswantnagar using ambulances and private vehicles. A medical team promptly began treatment, with eight pilgrims suffering minor injuries and two in a more serious condition under observation.

In the aftermath, District Magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava visited the scene and the hospital. They engaged with the injured pilgrims and instructed medical staff to provide the highest standard of care. The district administration is offering all necessary support to those affected.

Regarding the incident, SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava remarked that the pilgrims were returning from Barsana late at night after their pilgrimage. He noted that the driver lost control of the bus due to thick fog near Malajani village, leading to the accident. He assured that all injured individuals are receiving treatment and that the situation is fully under control.

Point of View

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by travelers during adverse weather conditions.
