Fog Related Incident: Over 24 Injured in Bus-Truck Crash in Dausa, Rajasthan

Dausa (Rajasthan), Jan 2 (NationPress) - More than 24 individuals were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in Rajasthan's Dausa early Thursday morning, primarily due to poor visibility caused by a dense fog, according to local police reports.

Among the injured, several passengers were critically harmed and were quickly transported to Jaipur for specialized medical care.

The Volvo bus, which was transporting pilgrims from Ujjain to Delhi, collided with a truck around 6:00 a.m. near pillar number 198 on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The heavy fog is thought to have drastically limited visibility, contributing to this unfortunate incident.

Deputy SP Charul Gupta explained, "An accident took place at pillar number 198 on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Due to the thick fog in the morning, the bus carrying pilgrims from Ujjain to Delhi collided with a truck."

She added, "Around 20 individuals were hurt, with four sustaining serious injuries. Twelve of the injured have been sent to Jaipur for treatment."

Passengers on the bus recounted terrifying experiences from the incident. Brijmohan, one of the injured, stated that he was asleep when the crash occurred, waking to chaos. He was returning to Delhi after visiting Ujjain.

Another passenger, Umer Khan, described feeling a sudden impact and realizing their bus had hit the truck ahead. Following the collision, everyone hurried to the emergency exit to evacuate the bus.

The injured managed to escape through the rear door and were first taken to the District Hospital in Dausa, where those with serious injuries were referred to Jaipur's SMS Hospital.

Medical attention for the remaining injured is ongoing at the Dausa District Hospital.

Authorities believe that the dense fog was a crucial factor in the crash, with preliminary findings indicating poor visibility as a major contributor.

Investigations are currently in progress, and more details are expected soon.
