Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Jan 27 (NationPress) Four individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries after a high-speed vehicle collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district on Tuesday.
This unfortunate incident took place near pillar number 193 in the Paparda police jurisdiction around 5:30 a.m. The force of the crash was so intense that the car became trapped beneath the truck and was dragged for nearly eight kilometers along the expressway.
The passengers were ensnared within the mangled wreckage, prompting police to exert considerable effort to recover the bodies.
According to DSP Deepak Meena of Nangal Rajawatan (Dausa), five pilgrims from Noida were in the vehicle, returning home after visiting the Mahakal temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
The deceased were identified as Rahul Gupta (35), Paras Agarwal (35), Prince Gupta (23), and Vikram Singh (30), all hailing from Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The fifth occupant, Brijmohan Gupta, who was seated in the back, suffered minor injuries and has been admitted to the district hospital in Dausa.
The car, registered in Haryana, was headed from Lalsot to Delhi when it struck the truck near Aluda village in the Rahuwas police area. The high speed resulted in the front of the car being entirely crushed and wedged under the truck.
Officials from the Paparda police station reported that the truck driver did not immediately notice the crash, which led to the car being dragged into their jurisdiction. Police, along with the expressway rescue team, arrived at the scene and managed to separate the car from the truck after significant effort.
The bodies were taken to the mortuary, and post-mortem examinations are currently being conducted. Traffic on the expressway was disrupted for a short period following the crash, but normal operations resumed once the damaged vehicles were removed. Authorities stated that further inquiries are ongoing in this case.
