Chennai, March 9 (NationPress) – According to industry insiders, Telugu actor Chaitu Jonnalagadda has been cast in the upcoming Tamil film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, which stars Dhanush and celebrated Malayalam actor Mammootty.

Sources reveal that Chaitu, who recently received the Special Jury (Male) award at the 2025 Gaddar Telangana State Film Awards for his role in 'Raju Weds Rambai', has completed three days of shooting for the untitled film, currently referred to as #D55.

The actor has filmed scenes in Chennai alongside Dhanush and Sai Pallavi, portraying a character that has significant presence throughout the movie.

Director Rajkumar Periasamy recently announced the film's technical crew, including cinematographer Ezhil Arasu. The editing will be handled by Kalaivanan R, and Kavya Sriram is in charge of costume design. Though art director Rajeevan wasn't present, he has been confirmed to manage production design.

The film's music will be composed by Sai Abhyankkar, adding to the anticipation surrounding this project.

Previously, Wunderbar Films welcomed actress Sai Pallavi, stating, "She’s about grace and strength - all at once. Welcoming everybody’s favourite @Sai_Pallavi92 on board #D55. The hit combo returns to the big screen."

The production team had also welcomed Sreeleela to the project on January 30 of this year.
