New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Republic Day Parade tableau from Chhattisgarh will present the nation's inaugural digital museum in Nava Raipur, which honors tribal heroic figures along the Kartavya Path, as per an official announcement made on Thursday.
The theme of the tableau, "The Mantra of Freedom – Vande Mataram", was revealed to the national media during a preview conducted by the Defence Ministry.
This tableau from Chhattisgarh is a tribute to the legendary tribal heroes who valiantly resisted the oppressive regulations of British colonial rule and sacrificed their lives for India's independence, according to the statement.
"To commemorate these brave martyrs, the country’s first Tribal Digital Museum has been established in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, showcasing 14 significant tribal freedom movements through cutting-edge digital technology," the statement continued.
The museum was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Silver Jubilee celebration of Chhattisgarh's formation.
Following the final endorsement from the expert committee, the officials from the Chhattisgarh Public Relations department and artists dedicated 24 hours a day over the last month to finalize the tableau.
This year, 17 state tableaux have been selected for the honor of participating in the Republic Day Parade along the Kartavya Path.
"At the forefront of Chhattisgarh's tableau stands Veer Gundadhur, the valiant figure of the historic Bhumkal Rebellion of 1910. Veer Gundadhur of the Dhurwa community rallied the community against oppression," the statement elaborated.
Mango twigs and dried chillies, symbols of the Bhumkal Rebellion, are prominently featured in the tableau. The scale of this uprising is evident as the British had to call in troops from Nagpur, yet were unable to capture Veer Gundadhur," the statement concluded.
The back of the tableau showcases Veer Narayan Singh, recognized as the first martyr of Chhattisgarh, riding a horse with a sword drawn.
He valiantly advocated for the welfare of the impoverished during a famine and played a crucial role in the First War of Indian Independence in 1857.
"The tableau embodies the unwavering bravery, patriotism, and steadfast dedication to freedom displayed by the tribal community," the statement emphasized.
A total of 30 tableaux — 17 from states/Union Territories and 13 from Ministries/Departments/Services — will traverse the Kartavya Path in New Delhi during the 77th Republic Day Parade on January 26, according to the Defence Ministry.
"With a broad theme of 'Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram' and 'Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat', the tableaux will showcase a unique blend of 150 years of the national song 'Vande Mataram' and the country’s rapid advancements driven by increasing self-reliance across various sectors, immersed in its rich cultural diversity," the Ministry further added.
