Key Takeaways
Mandsaur, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, on Thursday presented a job appointment letter to the son of Manohar Singh Chauhan, who tragically lost his life while attempting to rescue three individuals during an accident in the Mandsaur district last April.
In a post on his official X account, CM Yadav expressed, "I extend my heartfelt salutes to the unmatched humanity and bravery of the late Manohar Singh Chauhan ji. During the unfortunate incident in Malhargarh, Mandsaur district, the 40-year-old Manohar Singh ji, who heroically sacrificed his life, was honored today as his son Sanjay Singh received an appointment letter for the position of Police Constable (GD) in government service under a special provision."
"The bravery displayed by Manohar Singh ji is a remarkable illustration of humanity. Following a car-bike collision that resulted in the vehicle plunging into a well, he selflessly descended into the well to save those trapped inside. He managed to rescue four individuals, but tragically drowned while trying to assist others. For this act of valor, he will be honored posthumously," the Chief Minister noted in his post.
"Our state government is compassionate. Every citizen who embodies the spirit of humanity deserves respect," he added.
While addressing a gathering in Mandsaur, Chief Minister Yadav confirmed that the 22-year-old son of Manohar Singh will be inducted into the Madhya Pradesh Police.
He remarked that while there was previously no provision for providing a government position in the police, he modified the regulations in light of Manohar Singh's bravery.
"Today, I am here in Mandsaur with a job appointment letter for Manohar Singh's son. Although he could have been assigned a lesser position, I have chosen to recruit him into the police force. He is an educated young man, and he rightfully deserves this opportunity," CM Yadav stated while addressing the Kisan Sammelan in Mandsaur.
The announcement to grant a government job to Manohar Singh's son was made by Chief Minister Yadav following the tragic incident that occurred in the last week of April 2025.
Manohar Singh, residing in Kachariya village, lost his life while trying to rescue individuals trapped in a Maruti van that had fallen into a well in the village.
He succeeded in saving three people prior to drowning.
The accident resulted in the loss of 12 lives.
During the same government event, Chief Minister Yadav also transferred Rs 200 crore under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana (Price Deficiency Payment Scheme) to the bank accounts of over 1.7 lakh soybean farmers.
This marked the fourth installment of the scheme aimed at compensating farmers selling soybean crops below the Minimum Support Price (MSP), which was reintroduced by the Mohan Yadav-led Bharatiya Janata Party government in Madhya Pradesh in October 2025.
To date, the state government has disbursed a total of Rs 1,692 crore to more than eight lakh farmers, including the Rs 200 crore distributed on Thursday, as per an official government statement.
