Kochi, April 11 (NationPress) As challenges arise for Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan due to scrutiny surrounding his daughter Veena Vijayan’s now-defunct IT company Exalogic, state CPI-M Secretary M.V. Govindan declared on Friday that this is merely a conspiracy aimed at undermining the Chief Minister.

"Our party stands firmly with the Chief Minister in light of this orchestrated witchhunt executed by agencies, certain media outlets, and some political factions. We are prepared to confront this issue head-on politically," asserted Govindan.

"I would like to inquire what has become of the gold smuggling investigation, which faced similar outcry. There was considerable uproar, yet today, it barely garners a mention. What we see now is a deeply rooted conspiracy, and we, the CPI-M, will wholeheartedly support the Chief Minister," he emphasized.

Shortly after Govindan's press briefing, reports emerged that a court in Kochi, where the SFIO had submitted its charge sheet regarding the illicit transaction between Exalogic and Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL), had accepted it, leading to a formal case registration after a thorough review of the charge sheet.

The SFIO has determined that Veena Vijayan’s IT firm allegedly received a monthly payment of approximately Rs 2.70 crores from CMRL for mining approvals.

Recently, Vijayan reportedly lost his temper when pressed by the media regarding his daughter, curtly responding: "You (media) seek my blood, but you won’t obtain it easily."

On a different note, CPI state Secretary Binoy Viswam expressed on Friday that while his party supports Vijayan, they believe that Veena Vijayan must address her situation independently.

With the SFIO filing its charge sheet and the court registering it, alongside the ED requesting a copy through the appropriate channels, Vijayan finds himself in a challenging position; however, the strong backing from his party offers him some solace.
