Daaku Maharaaj Production Cancels Pre-Release Event Following Tirupati Tragedy

Chennai, Jan 9 (NationPress) The team behind director Bobby Kolli’s anticipated film, Daaku Maharaaj, featuring Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna in the principal role, has opted to cancel the pre-release event planned in response to the unfortunate stampede that took place in Tirupati.
The stampede occurred as devotees hurried to obtain tickets for the Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at the renowned Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple situated on the Tirumala Hills, resulting in six fatalities and numerous injuries.
This tragic news has reverberated throughout the nation. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has instructed senior officials to travel to Tirupati to implement essential relief measures.
The production company, Sithara Entertainments, which is one of the backers of Daaku Maharaaj, made the announcement via their social media platforms.
They stated, “In light of the recent occurrences in Tirupati, our team is profoundly impacted by the heartbreaking incident. It is truly devastating to witness such a tragedy occur at the Lord Venkateswara temple—a site of faith, aspiration for millions, and a treasured aspect of our familial traditions.”
“Considering the situation, we believe it is not suitable to go ahead with the #DaakuMaharaaj Pre Release Event as scheduled. With deep sorrow and the utmost respect for the devotion and feelings of the public, we have made the decision to cancel today’s event. We appreciate your understanding and support during this challenging time!!”
Written and directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaaj is slated for release on January 12 in celebration of the festival of Sankranti.
The film features music by Thaman S, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editing by Niranjan Devaramane and Ruben. The screenplay is crafted by K Chakravarthy Reddy, with dialogues written by Bhanu and Nandu. The action sequences have been choreographed by V Venkat.
