New Delhi, Sep 6 (NationPress) As the Chhath festival approaches, a group of Delhi BJP Purvanchal Morcha leaders convened with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday to present a memorandum advocating for dedicated assistance centres at key railway stations.
The memorandum, delivered by Morcha President Santosh Ojha, urged the establishment of special assistance booths during the revered Chhath Mahaparv to streamline travel for both devotees and those observing fasts.
The delegation comprised Delhi BJP Office Secretary Brajesh Rai, Purvanchal Morcha In-Charge Vipin Bihari Singh, Co-Incharges Kaushal Mishra and Manish Singh, along with Morcha General Secretaries Sanjay Tiwari, Vishal Singh Chandel, and Ashish Kumar.
The memorandum expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vaishnaw for the announcement of 12,000 special train trips during the festival season.
The Morcha highlighted that since the Chhath Mahaparv coincides with the Bihar elections, a significant number of individuals from Purvanchal not only reside in Delhi but also in nearby NCR regions such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Sonipat, Gurugram, and Faridabad, advocating for an increase in train services from these NCR stations.
“This enhancement would alleviate the pressure on Delhi railway stations during Chhath travel,” the memorandum asserted.
The BJP team proposed that the Ministry of Railways should establish dedicated help and assistance centres at major railway stations in Delhi and NCR, specifically catering to Chhath devotees and participants observing fasts, which would yield a significantly positive impact.
Earlier that day, members of the Delhi BJP and elected officials, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, participated in a workshop at the BJP Central Office Extension in Delhi, strategizing activities for the Seva Pakhwada campaign in the Capital.
The Seva Pakhwada is slated to commence on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 and continue until Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, featuring activities such as cleanliness drives, tree planting, blood donation camps, health initiatives, sports competitions, and art events.
