Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 26 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted the 'Kanya Pujan' ceremony in Pitampura and presented bicycles to approximately 1,000 female students from nine different schools, reaffirming her administration's dedication to providing a seamless educational experience for girls in the national capital.
Speaking to the press, CM Gupta emphasized that this initiative is designed to dismantle the obstacles that often hinder girls from pursuing their education.
"Every daughter in Delhi should be able to complete her studies without any impediments, graduate, and achieve her dreams. The government is committed to eliminating all barriers in her path," she stated.
Addressing the mobility issues encountered by female students, she remarked, "A significant number of girls struggle with transportation to and from school. Through the 'Vidya Vahini' initiative, we will supply bicycles to girls entering Class 9, facilitating their commuting during school years."
The Chief Minister also praised girls as representations of divine power, likening them to Durga and Saraswati, and expressed confidence in their future roles.
"They will bring honor to this city and our nation in the years to come. On behalf of the government, I honor each of my daughters and extend my sincere blessings to them. May they progress and flourish, and may they become the individuals they aspire to be. The government will provide all essential support and resources to help them complete their education," she expressed.
During her address, CM Gupta also launched a pointed critique against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding allegations surrounding the construction of a so-called 'Sheesh Mahal' funded by public money.
"You have all been waiting for the 'Sheesh Mahal' for some time; you can witness it yourself (pointing to a video shared by Delhi BJP), showcasing Kejriwal's misdeeds, as he built this 'Sheesh Mahal' using taxpayer funds and crossed all limits of corruption," she alleged.
Earlier, the Chief Minister shared a heartfelt message on social media for Kanya Pujan, describing daughters as symbols of strength and divine blessings.
In her post, she wrote, "Daughters are symbols of good fortune, embodiments of strength, and sacred blessings from a mother. On this auspicious occasion of Kanya Pujan, worshipping daughters brought deep emotion to my heart. Durga Ashtami reminds us that every daughter embodies the luminous energy of the primordial divine. Their love and respect enrich life with purity and auspiciousness."
"May they continue to shower grace upon everyone, may happiness and prosperity illuminate every home, and may the love of daughters forever brighten our lives. Millions of salutations to the Mother," the post concluded.
