New Delhi, Oct 27 (NationPress) Yash Dhull and Ayush Doseja have propelled Delhi into a dominant position on day three of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group D encounter against Himachal Pradesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.
Dhull played a fluent innings of 70 runs off 59 balls, while Doseja remained not out at 62, striking eight boundaries, as Delhi raced to 196/4 in just 32 overs before bad light curtailed the day's play. The pair formed a rapid 125-run partnership in 19.3 overs after Delhi found themselves at 53/3, extending the hosts' overall lead to 329 runs.
Earlier, Delhi had secured a 133-run first-innings lead by bowling Himachal Pradesh out for 297. Senior pacer Navdeep Saini spearheaded the bowling attack with figures of 3-52, while Money Grewal contributed with 2-47. Meanwhile, at the BKC Ground, Chhattisgarh struggled at 175/6 at stumps, trailing Mumbai by 241 runs. Chhattisgarh managed to dismiss Mumbai for 416, but their response faltered as spinners Himanshu Singh (2/33), Musheer Khan (2/29), and Shams Mulani (2/41) triggered a middle-order collapse.
At the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Jammu and Kashmir secured a significant win over Rajasthan by an innings and 41 runs, with pace-bowling all-rounder Auqib Nabi continuing his impressive form by taking 7-24 in 11 overs.
At the Cricket Association Pondicherry Siechem Ground, rain and poor light limited play to just 25 overs in the match between Hyderabad and Pondicherry. A persistent drizzle and fading light led to an early end, with Pondicherry struggling at 92/8.
In Group A, Nagaland made a remarkable comeback against the favored Tamil Nadu, thanks to an unbroken 200-run sixth-wicket partnership between Dega Nischal and Imliwati Lemtur. Nischal scored 161 not out, while Lemtur contributed 115 not out.
Meanwhile, Andhra faced difficulties, ending day three at 43/2, trailing Baroda by 320 runs after Baroda's impressive first innings of 363. Reigning champions Vidarbha also aimed for a lead against Jharkhand following a second consecutive century from Aman Mokhade, scoring 145.
In Group C, at Eden Gardens, Bengal strengthened their position against Gujarat with a lead of 282 runs after bowling Gujarat out for 167.
In other encounters, Karnataka faced challenges against Goa, while Madhya Pradesh took a 95-run lead over Saurashtra as rain disrupted play.
