New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) In a significant operation against illegal drug activities, the Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS) of the East District Police in Delhi has dismantled an inter-state drug trafficking ring that spanned Delhi-NCR and Bihar. Six individuals were taken into custody, with authorities seizing 58.7 kg of ganja and Rs 5.31 lakh in cash, as per officials' statements on Sunday.

The police report indicates that two suspects were initially detained, with four additional arrests made during the follow-up investigation, which helped identify essential suppliers and distribution connections across state lines.

The case is linked to FIR No. 90/2026, filed on April 2 at the Pandav Nagar police station under pertinent sections of the NDPS Act. Initially, two suspects, identified as Nadeem and Monu alias Abhishek, both residing in Delhi, were arrested with 45.760 kg of ganja, cash totaling Rs 2.65 lakh, electronic weighing equipment, and packaging materials intended for retail distribution.

As the investigation progressed, the ANS team focused on both backward and forward linkages to uncover the source and distribution framework. Following technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, police captured Sher Khan, a crucial supplier from Loni in Ghaziabad, on April 9. He had reportedly turned off his phone to avoid capture after the initial arrests.

On April 11, another suspect, identified as Pinki Kaur alias Don, a local distributor from Kalyanpuri, was apprehended. Authorities recovered 2.636 kg of ganja and Rs 2.66 lakh in suspected drug profits, alongside packaging materials.

Further investigations disclosed that the contraband was being sourced from Bihar. Acting on this information, police set up a trap near Sanjay Jheel in Delhi and arrested two suppliers from Bihar — Deepak Patel and Vikas Rai — who were caught transporting approximately 10.3 kg of ganja.

In total, law enforcement has confiscated 58.696 kg of ganja, valued at around Rs 30 lakh in the illegal market, along with Rs 5,31,580 in cash. An electronic weighing machine and bulk packaging supplies were also seized.

Authorities stated that the suspects were part of an organized supply chain, acquiring ganja in large quantities from Bihar and storing it in rented or residential locations in Delhi-NCR to evade detection. The illegal substances were then repackaged into smaller units for distribution through local networks, with a primary focus on high-density population areas.

“This operation underscores our relentless commitment to dismantling organized drug networks and combating inter-state trafficking through intelligence-led actions,” remarked a senior police official.

Currently, no prior criminal records have been reported for any of the suspects. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover additional connections within the network.
