New Delhi, July 18 (NationPress) In a crucial turn of events aimed at reducing criminal behavior in the national capital, a woman externee has been apprehended in Delhi's South West District.
The individual, identified as Bimla Devi, is a 55-year-old resident of Mahavir Enclave Part-I, Palam, Delhi.
According to DCP South West District Amit Goel, Devi was previously implicated in 34 cases related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Excise Act across multiple police stations in the city.
Devi was subjected to an externment order lasting two years issued by the Additional DCP/South West district on April 29.
Following a tip-off, law enforcement laid a trap and successfully captured her in the vicinity of Palam Village.
This operation was conducted by a team led by Inspector Gajender Singh, including SI Anil Kumar, ASI Ved Prakash, Ct. Rajesh, Ct. Farhaan, and W/Ct. Somata, with oversight from Vijay Kumar, ACP/Operations/SWD.
Upon questioning, Devi could not provide any legal documentation or justification for her presence in the area, thereby contravening the externment order.
Legal proceedings under u/s 53/116 Delhi Police Act (penalty for unauthorized entry or stay in an area) were initiated against her.
After her arrest, Devi was presented before the relevant court, and the externment cell was duly notified.
Interestingly, last month, the Special Staff of the South West District police also apprehended another externee.
This individual, identified as Manish, a 31-year-old from Brahmpuri, Pankha Road, Sagarpur, was ordered to stay away from the area for a year under a legal directive issued by the Additional DCP-I of South West District on August 27, 2024. However, he was discovered within the Sagarpur police station jurisdiction, violating his externment order and subsequently arrested.
