Udupi (Karnataka), Oct 3 (NationPress) In reference to the situation at Dharmasthala, B.L. Santhosh, the BJP National General Secretary (Organisation), asserted that an ideological attack is underway against Dharmasthala in Karnataka.
"They have tasted blood. Through their ideological politics, they experienced a sense of victory at Sabarimala. They also succeeded at Isha Ashram and Shani Shingnapur. Now, their focus has shifted to Dharmasthala," he remarked.
Speaking during the inauguration of the district BJP office in Udupi city, Santhosh stated that Dharmasthala is facing an ideological assault. He recalled a similar attack on the Udupi Krishna Mutt three years ago, adding that soon another revered site, Moodbidri, may also experience such an attack.
"Those behind this attack must face justice. Anyone propagating falsehoods should also be held accountable. We need to commit in our office to counter this menace," he urged.
“This is not merely an assault on an individual or institution. It is an attack on our faith, our beliefs, and our values. Although the attack on Udupi has been temporarily set aside, it could resurface at any moment. These attacks target the Hindu faith and the essence of our traditions. The family system, cows, values, and pilgrimage sites are their objectives,” he emphasized.
“There has been persistent false propaganda against the Kumbh Mela. They spread baseless rumors suggesting that attending the Kumbh would lead to non-existent diseases. Yet, the faith of this nation remains robust. After such allegations, the number of devotees surged by millions. We are prepared to confront this challenge head-on. Our society is resilient, and we will respond decisively to this threat against our nation and culture,” he asserted.
“At times we might falter and focus on ourselves, but in the BJP, such thinking is unwelcome. From the days of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh until now, the organization's roots remain strong. Thanks to these roots, we now witness branches, offshoots, and even the trunk of the tree,” he explained.
He also mentioned that leaders from other parties who have ideologically aligned themselves with the BJP have enriched the party.
“Three types of individuals are crucial for any political organization: the roots, the shoots, and those who graft and strengthen the tree periodically. A blend of natural growth and strategic expansion is essential to ensure our organization adapts to the demands of the times,” he remarked.
Santhosh concluded, "Numerous individuals have contributed to the success of the BJP in Udupi district, both directly and indirectly. Some have done so morally, while others have contributed physically."
District President Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, State General Secretary and MLA V. Sunil Kumar, and others were present.
