Mangaluru, Sep 1 (NationPress) Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra issued a stern warning to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday. He emphasized that should the Congress-led state government continue its anti-Dharmasthala propaganda, the patience of Hindu devotees will no longer hold.
During a significant rally dubbed "Dharmasthala Chalo", organized by the state BJP to denounce the perceived conspiracy against this esteemed Hindu pilgrimage site, Vijayendra remarked that the endurance of the devotees has reached its breaking point.
The BJP leader criticized the Chief Minister for merely offering a promise of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry, asserting that a thorough investigation must be conducted by either the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
He cautioned the state government not to provoke the Hindu community any further.
State Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao is reportedly aware of the alleged leftist conspiracy targeting the site.
"The Congress exhibits a lack of respect for India's sacred lands. Do not underestimate the significance of 'Dharmasthala Chalo.' May Lord Manjunatha guide the Congress government towards wisdom," Vijayendra added.
The rally was intended as a clear message to the "anti-Hindu, malevolent" Congress administration.
He reiterated that the protest was attended voluntarily by self-respecting Hindu activists, with no financial incentives involved.
This event served as a lesson to the corrupt Congress government, he stressed.
Furthermore, he condemned the state government for preventing officials from visiting the residence of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty following his tragic murder.
"For over a month, there has been a continuous stream of propaganda against Dharmasthala. The public anticipated sincere action from the state government via the SIT, but it never materialized," he stated.
He highlighted that Dharmasthala is not a mere temple; it is a revered site frequented by millions of devotees.
"The SIT, formed without grasping the essence of Dharmasthala, cannot deliver justice," he asserted.
"Individuals disseminating propaganda should have been apprehended within 24 hours, yet the Congress government failed to take action."
Vijayendra also called for a reinvestigation into the Suhas Shetty murder case to secure justice for his family.
Karnataka BJP Co-Incharge Sudhakar Reddy asserted the sanctity of the Dharmasthala region and accused the Congress of manipulating it for electoral gain.
He criticized the state government for its corrupt practices and warned that divine justice will prevail against leftist schemes.
He condemned past disrespect towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his family, demanding accountability from Tamil Nadu MP Shashikant Senthil for derogatory remarks.
The Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and senior BJP figure, R. Ashoka, alleged that influential entities involved in the Dharmasthala case have connections in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi.
He insisted that an NIA investigation is essential to uncover the conspiracy aimed at tarnishing Dharmasthala's reputation.
LoP Ashoka remarked that Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s statement suggesting that Chamundi Hill does not belong to Hindus stirred unrest among devotees.
He accused CM Siddaramaiah of associating with "urban Naxals" and "anti-national" factions, criticizing the Congress-led state government for its political agenda.
He urged Hindus to unite against this "vote-bank toolkit".
Legislative Assembly Opposition leader and BJP member, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, called for collective action against the "Burude" (skull) government, which he claimed supports efforts to malign Lord Manjunatha.
Narayanaswamy asserted that the state government collaborates with leftist groups, and all devotees of Lord Manjunatha must resist these transgressions.
Former Chief Ministers D.V. Sadananda Gowda and Jagadish Shettar, BJP National Yuva Morcha President and MP Tejasvi Surya, along with other BJP MPs, MLAs, MLCs, state officials, former MLAs, and district leaders, were also present.
Assembly member Harish Poonja welcomed the crowd.
S.R. Vishwanath delivered an inaugural address, emphasizing that an "anti-Hindu" conspiracy has been launched against the 800-year-old Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
Prior to the rally, participants engaged in a 'padyatra' (march) from the main entrance of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala to the event location.
