Bengaluru, Aug 16 (NationPress) The Karnataka unit of BJP initiated the 'Dharmasthala Chalo' campaign on Saturday to address the supposed conspiracy related to the mass grave case.
Led by MLA S.R. Vishwanath, the BJP Yelahanka unit kicked off the campaign from the Nelamangala toll, heading towards Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala. The event commenced with religious ceremonies, followed by a procession of hundreds of vehicles.
This yatra aims to combat misinformation, with participants set to have the darshan of Lord Manjunatha Swamy at Dharmasthala by evening.
Present at the event were MLA S.R. Vishwanath, State Milk Federation convener Belur Raghavendra Shetty, and other notable leaders, party workers, and supporters.
MLA Vishwanath stated, "We are making this journey to Dharmasthala in 300 cars. We welcome the Special Investigation Team (SIT)'s probe into the alleged mass grave case. Nonetheless, the investigation is being intentionally skewed by vested interests to tarnish and misrepresent the Hindu pilgrimage centre."
"Through the Dharmasthala Chalo campaign, we aim to refute and stand against the propaganda targeting Dharmasthala from certain YouTubers and segments of the media. We plan to reach Dharmasthala by evening and offer our prayers tonight. Tomorrow, BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra, along with Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and other prominent leaders, will join us in worshiping Lord Manjunatha," he added.
"Approximately 35 to 40 BJP MLAs will accompany us tomorrow, and together we will pray to God," he noted.
Vishwanath also remarked, "The Congress-led Karnataka government and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar are now acknowledging that there is a significant conspiracy regarding the Dharmasthala pilgrimage centre. It is surprising they have come to this realization only now; they should have made this statement much earlier."
On Friday, the Congress-led Karnataka government announced that measures would be taken against individuals propagating falsehoods against the Hindu pilgrimage centre.
In response to media inquiries near the KPCC office, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar mentioned, "The government is contemplating actions against those who have misrepresented and spread false information regarding the Dharmasthala case."
