New Delhi, Oct 20 (NationPress) Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan extended warm wishes for a joyous Diwali on Monday, expressing hope that dedication and commitment will foster collective growth for Bharat.
Known as the festival of lights, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated with great zeal across the nation, where individuals light diyas and candles and offer prayers to Goddess Lakshmi.
In his statement, the Vice President remarked, "On this auspicious occasion of Deepawali, I send my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians and friends of India, both at home and abroad."
"Deepawali represents the triumph of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is a time when the values of generosity, charity, and inclusivity—so deeply rooted in our civilization—are profoundly evident as we share and lend support to the needy and underprivileged," he added.
Radhakrishnan further encouraged that this Diwali, "let us reject negativity and Adharma and embrace positivity and Dharma, not just for our own benefit but for the nation's overall advancement."
"Similar to the diyas lit in every household that collectively brighten the night skies, let our dedication and commitment facilitate collective growth for Bharat. I pray that Goddess Lakshmi bestows blessings of peace, prosperity, and good health upon each of you," he concluded.
Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed Diwali greetings, wishing happiness and prosperity to all.
In her statement, President Murmu said, "On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, I send my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and worldwide."
"Celebrated with immense fervor across the country, Diwali carries the message of mutual affection and brotherhood. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity," she stated.
The President noted that this joyous festival also serves as "a time for self-reflection and self-improvement" and an "opportunity to assist the deprived and needy, bringing joy into their lives."
"I urge everyone to celebrate Diwali safely, responsibly, and in an environmentally friendly manner. May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all," she added.
PM Modi also took to social media to extend his warm Diwali wishes.
