Imphal, April 17 (NationPress) Union Minister for the Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, expressed optimism on Thursday that his ministry would act as a dynamic facilitator in unlocking new prospects and enhancing Manipur’s growth and development.

During his day-long visit to Imphal, Scindia engaged in discussions with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and other senior officials, evaluating the ongoing projects and schemes implemented by the DoNER Ministry in the state.

Following his meetings, the DoNER minister shared on his X handle that he had “evaluated the current development initiatives under the DoNER Ministry and sought to maximize Manipur’s unique advantages in tourism, sports, handloom, and infrastructure development.” He also assessed the state’s strengths to pinpoint areas where Manipur could excel through innovation.

Scindia reiterated his belief in the Ministry of DoNER as a proactive supporter in unleashing new opportunities and propelling the state’s advancement.

In reference to his discussions with the Governor, the Union Minister noted that they had substantial conversations regarding the commitment to enhance Manipur’s development and empower its youth.

Additionally, Scindia presided over a High-Level Task Force Meeting focused on Sports, reviewing essential development initiatives.

“We remain dedicated to assisting the state’s journey toward peace, development, and youth empowerment,” he stated in another post on X.

He also expressed his awe at the stunning landscapes he observed during his flight to Imphal, remarking, “When your flight takes the scenic route and surprises you with views like this… Loktak Lake and the valley of Manipur, what an incredible hidden gem. Grateful to have witnessed this beauty from above!”

The Ministry of DoNER had previously established a High-Level Task Force (HLTF), with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha as the convener, along with DoNER Minister Scindia and the Chief Ministers of Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Sikkim as members.

This Task Force on investment promotion for the northeastern region was formed after the 72nd plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) took place in November last year in Agartala, Tripura.

It was constituted by the Ministry of DoNER in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who leads the NEC.
