Coimbatore, Nov 13 (NationPress) The FMSCI National Racing Championship, India’s premier racing event, is gearing up for its thrilling grand finale at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on November 15–16. After months filled with fierce competition and narrow finishes, the weekend promises to deliver the season’s ultimate showdown.

Now in its 28th edition, this championship stands as India’s longest-running racing event. Notably, Freddie Spencer, the legendary American racing figure, three-time MotoGP World Champion, and inductee of the MotoGP Hall of Fame, will be present during the race weekend.

Whether it’s newcomers striving for their inaugural podium or experienced racers eyeing championship titles, the finale will showcase exhilarating races across various categories, including LGB Formula 4, Novice Cup, Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, and the newly introduced Levitas Cup. Additionally, the event will host the penultimate round of the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship as part of the Indian Racing Festival 2025.

The LGB Formula 4, recognized as India’s leading single-seater category, also remains the oldest class in the National Racing Championship, serving as a crucial bridge between karting and formula racing. It tests drivers’ skill, precision, and racecraft rigorously.

As of Round 2, Diljith TS from Dark Don Racing leads the standings with 53 points, followed by Dhruvh Goswami of MSport Racing with 45 points, and Mehul Agarwal from Dark Don Racing with 28 points. The championship remains fiercely contested as the final round approaches, determining the 2025 National Champion.

The FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship, part of the Indian Racing Festival (IRF), returns to Kari for its second-to-last round with a highly competitive lineup. Notable competitors include Kenyan Shane Chandaria (Chennai Turbo Riders), French racer Sachel Rotge (Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru), South African Luviwe Sambudla (Goa Aces JA Racing), Indian Ishaan Madesh (Kolkata Royal Tigers), and Saishiva Sankaran (Speed Demons Delhi), all vying for victory. The championship emphasizes thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing, with all drivers operating identical Ligier JS F422 cars, underscoring the importance of driver skill.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, backed by [sponsor], is set to be a season highlight as competitors on the formidable GT-R650 motorcycles prepare for an intense Pro-Am showdown in the final round. In the Professional category, Anish Shetty from Bengaluru leads with 57 points, while defending champion Navaneeth Kumar from Puducherry is in second place with 36 points, closely trailed by Kayan Patel from Mumbai with 34 points.

In the Amateur division, Bryan Nicholas from Puducherry leads with 69 points, followed by Johring Warisa from Umrangso with 45 points and Kabir Sahoch from Vadodara with 33 points. The GT-R650S has produced thrilling slipstream encounters throughout the season, and with two races remaining, fans can anticipate high-speed duels, strategic maneuvers, and fierce racing until the very end.

The Levitas Cup, India's latest single-make racing series, commenced this season with performance-tuned Maruti Suzuki Ignis cars. Featuring 14 talented drivers across rookie and gentlemen classes, the championship has delivered closely contested, skill-centered racing. As the final weekend approaches, the Rookie title battle remains open, with Ashwin Pugalagiri from Madurai and Balaji Raju from Chennai tied at 32 points, while Nihal Singh from Gurgaon is closely trailing with 27. In the Gentlemen category, Jai Prashanth Venkat from Coimbatore leads with 38 points, followed by Ram Charan with 28 and Yokeshwaran Krishnavelu with 21, setting the stage for an exciting finish.

The Novice Cup, India’s entry-level single-seater racing series, has served as a launching pad for emerging talent. The last two rounds were characterized by tight, wheel-to-wheel competition in 1300cc Swift-powered cars. After Round 2, Abhijit Vadavalli from Momentum Motorsports leads with 34 points, closely followed by Lokithlingeash Ravi from DTS Racing with 32 points and Prathik Ashok from DTS Racing with 28 points. With only six points separating the top three, the final weekend is poised for fierce competition, where consistency and a flawless race start could prove decisive, as even a minor error could shift the outcome.
