Chandigarh, Oct 23 (NationPress) Malvinder Singh Kang, a Member of Parliament from Punjab representing AAP, has strongly criticized the dissemination of a manipulated video aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Kang addressed the media, labeling this incident as a pre-planned attack by the BJP to assassinate the character of the Chief Minister. He cautioned that those responsible for this conspiracy will face consequences.
According to Kang, the video was crafted with the explicit purpose of discrediting their respected Chief Minister through character assassination. He pointed out that the fake clip gained traction, with significant amplification from various leaders of the BJP, including national and Punjab office-bearers.
Kang identified Jagman Samra, residing in Canada, as the campaign's instigator, noting that following a directive from a Mohali court, an FIR has been filed against him.
“Facebook has deleted both Jagman Samra's account and the fraudulent video in compliance with legal orders,” Kang stated, highlighting the swift actions taken that confirm the video’s deceptive nature.
Addressing the social media platform that propagated the clip, the MP accused a network of BJP-affiliated accounts of orchestrating this campaign. He remarked that numerous accounts, some connected to senior BJP officials, regularly circulate such propaganda to damn a person's character.
Kang urged the people of Punjab to recognize that this is not a standalone incident but a comprehensive machinery aimed at undermining a leader who has emerged from humble beginnings through dedication and integrity.
He warned that while political opinions can be freely expressed, the creation of AI-generated fake videos to tarnish the reputation of an elected Chief Minister crosses all boundaries of acceptable behavior.
“The people of Punjab will respond to this conspiracy at the right moment. We vehemently denounce this scheme by the BJP,” he affirmed, pledging to pursue strict legal measures.
“Anyone attempting to malign our leaders with fake videos will face severe repercussions; our party will take decisive legal action against you,” he concluded.
